PET Grades Offered by Relco

Relco supplies four core PET product categories, each available in clearly defined sub-grades. All materials are traded strictly against agreed specifications covering IV range, color, moisture, and contamination. Mixed or downgraded material is not handled.

PET Flakes

PET flakes supplied by Relco are produced from controlled bottle scrap streams through certified recycling partners. Available grades include clear washed PET flakes, light blue washed PET flakes, and unwashed PET flakes. Washed flakes offer low contamination and moisture levels, making them suitable for fiber, sheet, and thermoforming applications. Unwashed flakes are supplied for secondary processing where further washing is planned.

PET Bottle Scrap

Relco handles post-consumer PET bottle scrap sourced from approved US collection and processing facilities. Grades include clear (natural) bottle scrap, light blue bottle scrap, and mixed color bottle scrap. Clear and light blue grades are preferred for higher-value recycling applications due to lower color contamination, while mixed color grades are suitable for non-critical or down-cycled uses. All bottle scrap is supplied in baled form with controlled PVC, metal, and moisture limits.

PET Lumps

PET lumps handled by Relco originate primarily from traceable manufacturing processes. Grades include post-industrial PET lumps, clear/natural PET lumps, and limited post-consumer PET lumps from approved streams. Post-industrial and clear lump grades offer high purity and stable IV, making them ideal for regrinding and controlled recycling. Mixed polymer or unknown-origin lumps are not accepted.

PET Regrind

Relco supplies PET regrind derived from both post-industrial and approved post-consumer sources. Grades include post-industrial PET regrind, post-consumer PET regrind, and clear/natural PET regrind. Post-industrial regrind provides the highest consistency in IV and color, while post-consumer regrind is used where broader tolerances are acceptable. All regrind is supplied with uniform particle size and controlled contamination.

Specification-Driven Supply

Across all four PET categories, Relco enforces strict quality control through defined specifications, lot verification, and rejection of off-spec material. This approach protects downstream processing, reduces risk, and ensures long-term supply reliability for our customers.
